Student Travel Grants – 2nd Call

If you are a student interested in attending ISWC 2024 and you have not obtained the grant in the first travel grant call, you may be eligible to apply for travel grants to support travel and lodging costs. This year, travel grants are funded by the Semantic Web Science Association (SWSA) and the US National Science Foundation (NSF). Awardees will make their own arrangements for travel and accommodation. The award should be used to pay costs related to attending the conference. The costs will be reimbursed in due time, given the proof of expenses.

Award Details

The exact amount awarded to each student will depend on the needs stated in the application and the kind of submission that they have in ISWC 2024. Preference will be given to students who are the first authors of papers accepted to the main conference or the doctoral consortium, followed by those who are the first authors of papers accepted to ISWC workshops and the Poster & Demo session. If additional funds are available, we will also consider supporting students who do not have papers at the conference.

This year, we will consider supporting travel companions for attendees with special needs and aim to support a diverse group of students (e.g., gender, nationality, ethnicity, type of institution, and geographic location). If you have any questions or would like to discuss your specific requirements, please do not hesitate to contact the student grants chairs (iswc.2024.student.grant@gmail.com).

Service Requirement

Awardees are expected to volunteer at the conference activities (e.g., registration desk, session assistance, AV tables, workshops, etc) for a number of hours during ISWC 2024. You get to pick your time slots upon availability. So, we will collaborate to enable everyone not to miss anything they want to attend.
